B2B Doc at Tempo Documentary Festival in Stockholm the 9th of March - Film Work and Human Rights in Belarus

Two Belarusian filmmakers and two representatives of organisations supporting human rights in the country are invited to dig into the situation for documentary filmmakers in Belarus. Participating in the discussion:

- Aliaksei Paluyan, director of the film Courage which is a part of Tempo’s program.

- Volia Chajkouskaya, producer of documentaries and organiser of the film festival Nordic Lights in Belarus.

- Martin Uggla, human rights defender and Operational Manager at Östgruppen.

- Benedicte Berner, Chair of the Board of Civil Rights Defenders.

Words from the moderator, Malcolm Dixelius, senior producer and one of the founders of B2B Doc:

“B2B Doc’s event about documentary filmmaking in Belarus is a statement in defence of our industry as a cornerstone of democracy. The violent suppression of documentary filmmakers at work in Belarus must be seen as an attempt by an authoritarian regime to hide its undemocratic nature and methods. B2B Doc as an organisation is committed to the defence and support of those Belarusian filmmakers who are still active in a repressive environment in their own country and of those who have been forced into exile.”

Date: March 9, 2022.

Time: 14.00

Place: Teater Tre, Rosenlundsgatan 12, Stockholm.

The panel discussion is hosted by B2B Doc in collaboration with Tempo Dokumentärfestival. Information about tickets will come soon.
