About the Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network (B2B Doc)
The Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network is an initiative that started in 2014 and turned into an organization in 2018. B2B Docs works in a new niche that combines international development co- operation with documentary filmmaking. Our organization primarily targets filmmakers in the countries between the Baltic and the Black Sea, including Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. We support filmmakers to: a) develop qualitative films b) improve skills and capacity to promote and communicate their film projects c) reach out nationally and internationally with their film projects and d) attract funding. Most of the film projects we support address issues of global concern such as; human rights violations, harassment of ethnic minorities or LGBTQ communities, armed conflicts or gender disparities. When these powerful stories meet the public they stimulate discussions and debates on important issues and thereby have potential of contributing to actual change. Our work is therefore very stimulating and awarding.
